Elle Lexxa — Artist Website

Overview

Elle Lexxa’s work spans music, performance, social media, and visual storytelling. I built the site to bring those pieces into one cohesive place while preserving a strong point of view. The challenge was creating a homepage that felt atmospheric and memorable without sacrificing clarity.

The Challenge

Many artist websites either strip everything back so far that they lose personality, or become so visually overloaded that users lose their way. This project needed to do both: hold a distinct mood and still guide people clearly.

• Showcase video, music, and social presence without overwhelm
• Create a digital space that matched her ethereal, theatrical identity
• Integrate Spotify, TikTok, YouTube, and a contact form in a cohesive way

Approach

1. Information Architecture

I restructured the site into a simple narrative flow: Hero, About, Watch / Listen, and Contact. That created a progression of Who → What → Experience → Connect, which made the site feel easier to move through while still letting the visuals lead.

2. Visual Direction

The visual language pulled from editorial layouts, soft-focus imagery, and subtle glow effects. I used framing devices and controlled whitespace to make the page feel cinematic rather than crowded.

3. Typography

I paired Playfair Display for headlines with Inter for body copy to create contrast between expressive, dramatic headers and clean, readable text.

Design Decisions

4. Interaction & Layout

Instead of relying on heavy animation, I focused on pacing, hierarchy, and framing. Clear calls to action like Watch and Listen help guide the user, while spacing and visual containers keep the embedded content from feeling dropped in.

5. Technical Execution

I built the site from scratch in WordPress and Semplice, using custom CSS to shape media embeds, create glow and glass-like framing, and make outside platforms feel integrated into one design system.
